Connect my Classroom is an initiative that I launched 3 years ago. It was a re-creation of what I love most about my time teaching Kindergarten. We could jump into a Google Hangout with a classroom every two weeks to share in a 20-30 minute lesson. Sometimes we would read a story, sometimes we would write a story together on Google Docs. We always followed up this time by comparing simple things like the weather or the school day. The unique aspect of this program, is that you are paired with one classroom for the year. Mystery Skyping is fun, but leads to little or no learning. Diving deep into learning and relationships with one group of kids leads to a true change in the education these students are receiving.
