Prism is a crowdsourcing tool for education. Users are invited to provide an interpretation of a text by highlighting words. Each individual interpretation contributes to the the interpretation of all the users, creating a visual representation of all users thoughts.

The three "faucets" or highlighting themes used above are:
  • Reminds me of...
  • Prediction
  • Ah-ha!
One of the best things about Prism, is that you can make your own Prism's. You can take any text that you are, or will be reading, and give it to your students. You can set the "faucets" to be anything you want. Some teachers choose to base the faucets on parts of speech, or overall understanding of the text! Other examples are:
  • I understand this
  • I don't understand this
  • Arguable
  • Agreeable
  • I am like this
  • I am not like this
  • Key Learning
  • Vague
  • Figurative Language
  • And Countless others
This tool also allows you to view any Prism's without creating an account. Your students can go on today, and see how other people interpret texts without creating an account. If you do want an account (like if you want to make your own Prism's or highlight) you can use your Google Account and one click sign in! Leverage this tool to crowd source your students learning!
